According to archivist Michel Lalonde, there is no need to live in Ottawa to be an Ottawan. All the people who reside in Quebec’s Outaouais region with their families, but who work in Ottawa, who engage and identify with the city, would be full-fledged Ottawans since their destiny is irrevocably entwined with that of the capital.
