Ardent defenders of the cause

The first elected Francophone representatives on the Ottawa municipal scene are strong advocates for the “cause.” Joseph-Balsora Turgeon, Pierre Saint-Jean and Olivier Durocher are remembered more for their commitment to the Francophone community and its institutions, than for their contribution to building the city. The latter becomes one of the builders of the Union Saint-Joseph.
